Resources are provided to research explorations of North America, 1600 - 1750, or for younger students to do a word find. The illustration, map and Q&A focus on the first European settlements in this D.C. area: Alexandria, Georgetown and Bladensburg. Students learn about the first printing presses and newspapers in the colonies in "The First Draft of History." Government under British rule and colonial legal systems is introduced in "Law and Order: British Rules and Colonial Acts."
