If you would like to reprint articles, columns, cartoons, comics or graphics, printed in The Washington Post, you first need to determine who owns the rights to the material.

Please note that The Washington Post does not own the copyright to everything that appears in the newspaper. If a byline, credit line or copyright notice says "Washington Post Staff Writer" or states that the copyright is held by The Washington Post Company or The Washington Post Writers Group, we own the copyright and can grant permission. In all other cases (including when a byline states "Special to The Washington Post"), contact the section of the newspaper where the material appeared to find out the copyright owner's address or phone number.

If you would like Post permission to reproduce material for electronic use, please call washingtonpost.com at 703-469-2504 or send an email to permissions@washingtonpost.com.
