The Post participates in a wide range of community events. Here are a few of the happenings where you can come out and meet The Post.
Black Family Reunion
Every fall, The Post is a sponsor of the annual Black Family Reunion Celebration on the Washington Monument grounds. This free two-day, weekend cultural event celebrates the history and tradition of the black family and features live music, African-American crafts, an international marketplace, homebuyer workshops, product samplings, health screenings and demonstrations, face painting and much more.
Taste of D.C.
Every Columbus Day weekend, this three-day event takes over Pennsylvania Avenue in downtown Washington, celebrating the cultural and epicurean diversity of Washington. Visitors can sample a wide range of foods from dozens of Washington eateries and enjoy music and a wide variety of other cultural and informational displays.
Race for the Cure
Each year The Post sponsors a pledge program in connection with Race for the Cure to raise funds for breast cancer research. Proceeds benefit the Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research at Georgetown University's Lombardi Cancer Center. The D.C. Race held in the District of Columbia is the largest 5K run/walk and 1-mile fund walk to benefit breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs. Pledges may be dropped at The Post's booth at the race.
Fairs and Festivals
The Post supports and attends a variety of fairs and festivals throughout the metropolitan area. Members of the news and business departments are on hand to answer questions about the paper, and The Post's mascot Ned the Newshound comes along, too. Games and prizes provided by the Post add to the festivities. Fairs and festivals include:
Montgomery County Fair
Prince William County Fair
Prince George's Fair
Adams Morgan Festival
Takoma Park Festival
The National Zoo Guppie Gala
