Position: Utility Mailer
Classification: Part Time on call
Basic Requirements:
- Have access to reliable transportation (Please note: our Springfield & College
Park Production Plants are not Metro accessible);
- Must successfully complete our six-month on-the-job training and probationary period;
- Must be able to perform general physical labor, which will include some lifting and stacking of newspaper bundles and operating machinery;
- Experience using a forklift, deepreach and/or electric jack is helpful;
- Experience working in a production environment is a plus.
General Responsibilities:
- On-the-job Training in the operation of:
- Inserting Equipment;
- Packaging equipment including stacker, tying machine and underwrapper;
- Rolling stock, forklift, deepreach and electric jack;
- Other duties as assigned by Mailroom Foreman.
Note: Training is conducted primarily at our Springfield, VA Plant. Days (6:00am-2:00pm), afternoons (2:00pm-10:00pm) and nights (10:00pm-6:00am) are available seven days a week. Based on your availability, and our production demands, you may work up to five shifts per week. All of the essential functions of this position are not necessarily described in this posting.
