Basic Requirements:
- Strong quantitative analytical skills required;
- Skilled in use of PCŐs and spreadsheets - Excel required;
- Ability to learn quickly and to understand thoroughly operations, revenue/cost structures and market conditions;
- Demonstrated ability in the systematic analysis and solution of problems;
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of Post management and staff;
- Ability to handle multiple and diverse tasks under deadline pressure;
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills a plus;
- Demonstrated initiative and ability in defining/undertaking work assignments with minimal supervision;
- Evidence of good judgement, creativity, inquisitiveness and perseverance in past work or education experience;
- Accounting experience or knowledge helpful.
General Responsibilities:
- Identifying, monitoring and proposing ways to influence key variable that affect The PostŐs print and online profitability;
- Assisting with the development and implementation of marketing initiatives;
- Providing analytical support on issues affecting advertising sales categories;
- Compiling, analyzing and preparing reports on the newspaper industry and Washington area market data to target revenue opportunities;
- Participating in special projects with other department personnel;
- Collecting data and information for routine responses to department requests;
- Pricing analysis and recommendations for rate card changes;
- Other duties as specified.
