Position: Sales Manager
Classification: Full Time
Basic Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years previous sales management experience strongly preferred;
- Skilled at sales planning, budgeting, and forecasting;
- Ability to set goals and develop and implement action plan to reach those goals;
- Ability to develop a vision about our business and to determine how to maintain and grow market share;
- Strong track record in obtaining results and assuming responsibility for the outcome;
- Strong, positive leadership style with the ability to manage and lead in a dynamic business environment, internally and externally;
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a sales team;
- Strong field coaching, motivational, and sales training skills;
- Ability to see the "big picture" and work through both strategic and tactical issues and opportunities;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
General Responsibilities:
- Budgeting and forecasting sales category revenue;
- Successfully implementing and executing sales plans;
- Coaching, motivating, and providing direction for sales team;
- Effectively setting goals and SBOs for sales representatives;
- Enhancing or developing products to meet market demands;
- Collaborating with Sales Managers, Marketing, and other support departments;
- Communicating laterally and vertically; internally and externally;
- Managing category expense budget;
- Reinforcing The Washington Post as the marketplace/media leader.
