Department: Accounting

Position: Specialist

Classification: Full Time

Basic Requirements:

  • Previous accounting, credit, collections, contract management or other financial experience is an asset;
  • Commitment to excellence and professionalism in accounting and customer service;
  • Knowledge of and/or the ability to quickly understand and interpret department policies and procedures, and explain such to internal and external customers;
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels and types of management, personnel and customers; must be an accomplished negotiator with a sensitivity to public relations;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Self-starter, requiring minimum supervision and direction with past work experience evidencing good judgement, creativity and perseverance;
  • Demonstrated ability to systemically analyze and solve problems;
  • Ability to prioritize and process detailed, high volumes of paperwork in a timely, organized fashion;
  • Client server and personal computer literacy (ABS, Excel, Word, Lotus Notes) preferred.

General Responsibilities:

  • Meeting the companyÕs goals of strong financial performance and excellent customer service, according to annually set objectives and measurements;
  • Maintaining confidentiality of company and customer information in both internal and external business dealings;
  • Monitoring new accounts opened by Customer Service teams; auditing for errors adversely impacting our billing process and providing feedback to teams;
  • Opening new and additional accounts as needed;
  • Analyzing, balancing and conducting reconciliation on accounts;
  • Answering billing questions from advertisers as needed;
  • Monitoring delinquent advertising accounts and effecting collections of these accounts;
  • Processing and approving credit applications, utilizing available resources including online access to web sites and other tools;
  • Maintaining accurate and timely system notes of all discussions, agreements and transactions involving Post accounts;
  • Assisting in testing new billing system;
  • Reviewing of workflow process for improvement;
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
