Mary Jo Webster
Falls Church City Public Schools

Ms. Webster is a director of instrumental music for the Falls Church City School system, teaching the George Mason Middle and High School as well as the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School bands. She began her teaching career in 1981 as an instructor of music theory and appreciation at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. From 1983 to 1991, Ms. Webster was the instrumental music director and department chair for Algoma Middle School in Algoma, Wis. In 1991, she traveled abroad and became the instrumental music director at St. Mary’s International School in Tokyo, Japan, where she remained for three years. Ms. Webster returned to the United States in 1994, accepting the position of band director for Cerro Corso Community College in Ridgecrest, Calif. She assumed her present position in Falls Church in 1997. Ms. Webster received a bachelor of music in music education from State University of Arts and Science in Potsdam, N.Y., and a master of music in music education from Vandercock College of Music in Chicago, Ill.
