Helen D. Torosian
Stafford County Public Schools
Mrs. Torosian is a science and biology teacher at Colonial
Forge High School and has spent her entire career as an educator
in the Stafford County Public School system. She began her
teaching career in 1970 as a biology, physical science and
life science teacher at T. Benton Gayle Junior High School,
where she remained for five years. In 1974, while at Gayle,
Mrs. Torosian was elected teacher of the quarter. From 1975
to 1981, she was a biology teacher at Stafford Senior High
School and was elected teacher of the quarter in 1980. In 1981,
Mrs. Torosian’s career path brought her to North Stafford
High School where she served as a biology and marine science
teacher for the next 18 years. During her tenure at North Stafford,
she served on the Stafford County science textbook evaluation
committee and as a Colleague Assistance Program mentor. Mrs.
Torosian joined the staff at Colonial Forge in 1999. She received
a bachelor of science in biology from Madison College in Harrisonburg,
Va.
