Jane McDaniel Todd
Fauquier County Public Schools
Ms. Todd is a differentiation specialist at Grace Miller Elementary
School. She is responsible for defining the strategic direction
of special education programs designed to identify students
who encounter learning obstacles. Mrs. Todd began her career
in education in 1977 as an instructional assistant in special
education for Fairfax County Public Schools. In 1978, she joined
the Fauquier County Public School system as a substitute teacher.
From 1979 to 1980, Mrs. Todd was a sixth grade classroom instructor
at C.M. Bradley Elementary School. In 1980, she moved to Mary
Walter Elementary School and taught second grade. Mrs. Todd
joined the staff of Grace Miller in 1994 as a second grade
classroom instructor. In 1999, she became a differentiation
specialist and part-time second grade teacher, remaining in
that position for three years. Beginning in 2002, Mrs. Todd
was a kindergarten classroom teacher as well as a part-time
differentiation specialist until she assumed her present position
in 2003. She received a bachelor of science degree in early
childhood education from Carson Newman College in Jefferson
City, Tenn., and a master of education degree in elementary
education from George Mason University.
