Colleen Bernard

Mrs. Bernard is a social studies teacher at Urbana High School. Her career as an educator began in the Frederick County Public School system where she has taught since 1997. During her tenure, she has also taught social studies at Windsor Knolls Elementary School. Since 2000, Mrs. Bernard has been a member of the curriculum writing committee for Frederick County. From 2000 to 2004, she served as the social studies chair at Windsor Knolls and in 2004 the school named her teacher of the year. Mrs. Bernard received a bachelor of arts degree in justice from The American University in Washington, D.C., and a teaching certificate from Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Md.
