Neill G. Russell
Anne Arundel County Public Schools
Mr. Russell, a Earth Space System Science teacher at Annapolis
High School, began his teaching career in the Anne Arundel
County Public School system where he has worked since 1974.
From 1974 to 1989, he taught earth science at Annapolis Junior
High School. In 1989, Mr. Russell joined the faculty at Annapolis
High School. During his tenure, he has been heavily involved
in the science program and helped to pilot the Earth Space
Systems Science (ESSS) program. This program is a computer
based lab course that allows students to investigate actual
scientific research presented by earth/space scientists at
Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. Mr. Russell is
also the coach of the gymnastics team and has also coached
volleyball for Annapolis High School. In 2003, he was featured
in the national publication Teacher Magazine showcasing his
ESSS class and students. Mr. Russell received his bachelor
of science degree in education from California State Teacher
College in California, Penn.
