James F. Erwin
Maret School (Private Schools)

Mr. Erwin is the chairman of the performing arts program at Maret School. He began his teaching career in 1984 as an associate music director at Little Falls Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Va., where he remained for three years. From 1987 to 1992, he was music director at Burke United Methodist Church in Burke, Va. In 1992, Mr. Erwin became the music director and organist at Crossman United Methodist Church in Falls Church, Va. for the four years. In 1987, he joined the faculty at Maret School and assumed his current position. Mr. Erwin has performed as a soloist with the George Mason University Orchestra and was the first Maret Fellow. The Maret Fellowship is presented by the Maret School for outstanding teaching. He received a bachelor of music degree in piano performance from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., and a master of music education degree from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va.
