Ralph E. Reeves, Jr.
Private Schools

Mr. Reeves is a science teacher at DeMatha Catholic High School. He began his teaching career in 1977 as a science teacher and department chair at Avalon Academy in Dillon, S.C., where he remained for nine years. He served as Headmaster at Avalon from 1986 to 1988. In 1988, Mr. Reeves began working as a science teacher at The Chelsea School in Silver Spring, Md., where he remained for two years. He then taught science at The Yeshiva of Washington from 1990 to 1994. Mr. Reeves began teaching science at DeMatha Catholic High School in 1990. In addition to teaching, Mr. Reeves has been the Chair of the Department of Sciences at DeMatha since 1993 and he is also the Director of the Summer Science Program for Middle School Students at DeMatha. He has held this position since 1996. Mr. Reeves received a B.S. degree in biology and secondary science education at University of North Carolina-Pembroke in Pembroke, N.C. and an M.S. degree in environmental biology/toxicology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
