Pauline Carey
Prince George's County Public Schools

A math, science and technology teacher at Mt. Rainier Elementary School, Mrs. Carey has spent her career in the Prince George's County Public Schools teaching second through sixth grades since 1974. Mrs. Carey has taught at Lewisdale Elementary in Hyattsville, Md., Randolph Village Elementary in Capitol Heights, Md., and West Lanham Hills Elementary in Lanham, Md. In 1996, Ms. Carey developed and implemented a literacy project, Books for the Menu, for first through fifth grade students where teachers and students were featured in a nationally-distributed video highlighting the success of the literacy program. She is an active member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the International Society for Technology in Education. Mrs. Carey received a B.S. degree in elementary education from the University of Maryland, College Park.
