How to get NIE at your school

To participate in The Post's Newspaper In Education (NIE) program, teachers and principals can call The Post and set up a workshop to learn about using newspapers regularly in classes. Representatives of the Educational Sales and Services Department will go to the school and meet with an individual teacher or the principal or attend a staff meeting and give a brief presentation about The Post's NIE program. If a teacher decides to use the NIE program, the teacher or teachers can schedule one-on-one training sessions to help use the newspaper most effectively in the classroom.

Throughout the year, The Post accepts donations from companies and individuals as part of The Washington Post Partners In Education program to fund NIE. This allows most schools to receive classroom sets of The Washington Post as well as newspaper-related curriculum and other resources at no cost to the school.

If you are interested in learning more about putting The Washington Post's NIE program in your child's school, call The Post's Educational Sales and Services Department, (202) 334-4544. Maryland schools can call (202) 334-6225; Virginia schools call (202) 334-5690; and for District of Columbia schools call (202) 334-4545.
