Spanish Culture and Language Fellowships
Sponsored in cooperation with The Spanish Ministry of Education and Science
and the Education and Science Office of the Embassy of Spain
As a firm believer that good teachers are the foundation of our educational
system, The Washington Post is committed to helping Washington area schools
provide exceptional learning environments.
Area teachers of grades K-12 with intermediate or advanced knowledge of
Spanish are invited to participate in this summer program conducted at the
University of Salamanca, Spain. A total of six fellowships will be awarded.
Participants will learn new technologies to teach the Spanish language and
focus on Hispanic culture. The program is specially designed to teach the
phonetic, grammatical, conversational and comprehension aspects of the Spanish
language and will also focus on history, literature, culture and traditions
of Spain.
Underwritten by The Washington Post and the Embassy of Spain, the fellowships
include tuition, course instructional and materials, transportation, meals
and lodging and health insurance.*
We are especially pleased to conduct this program in cooperation with the
Spanish Ministry of Education and Science and the Education and Science Office
of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C.
* Recipients will be responsible for applicable taxes. The Fellowship is
valued at approximately $4,500.
