Grants in Education
The Post provides an opportunity for teachers to apply for funds over and above those in the approved school budget to implement creative and innovative ideas that enrich the standard curriculum.
Previous grants have been awarded in school subjects such as math, science, technology and theatre. Full-time teachers from the 19 local public school systems who apply and are selected, receive grants averaging $300 each. Proposals are screened by a committee of educators and community leaders.
The deadline for Grants in the Education for the 2008-2009 school year is Friday, November 7, 2008. Grants will be awarded in January 2009. To apply for a grant, please download the 2008-09 application and brochure.
