Grants in Education

The Post provides an opportunity for teachers to apply for funds over and above those in the approved school budget to implement creative and innovative ideas that enrich the standard curriculum.

Previous grants have been awarded in school subjects such as math, science, technology and theatre. Full-time teachers from the 19 local public school systems who apply and are selected, receive grants averaging $300 each. Proposals are screened by a committee of educators and community leaders.

The deadline for Grants in Education applications is in October of each year. Please return to this page soon to download the brochure/application for the 2008-2009 program.

For more information, please call The Post's Public Relations department at (202) 334-7969.
