2004 Winners

Kelly M. Hall,
St. Mary’s County Public Schools, is the principal of Leonardtown Elementary School. Since 1986, Mrs. Hall has been educating the children of St. Mary’s County beginning as a pre-kindergarten teacher at Piney Point Elementary School in Tall Timbers, Md. Two years later, she moved to George Washington Carver Elementary School in Lexington Park, Md., where she taught kindergarten, first, and second grades throughout her seven-year tenure. She then transferred to Park Hall Elementary School in Park Hall, Md., where she was a first grade teacher and also the teacher of a multi-aged combination class of first and second graders until 1998. Mrs. Hall then became assistant principal of Lettie Marshall Dent Elementary in Mechanicsville, Md., and served in that position for the next two years. In 2000, she was promoted to her present position as school principal at Leonardtown Elementary School. She holds a BS degree in early childhood education from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Md., and an MS degree in curriculum and instruction from Western Maryland/McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.
