Ann T. Lewis,
Stafford County Public Schools, is principal of Ferry Farm Elementary School. Mrs. Lewis began her career with Spotsylvania County Public Schools as a first grade teacher at Chancellor Elementary School in Fredericksburg, Va., in 1974. Later that year she moved to Battlefield Elementary School, also in Fredericksburg, where she taught for one year. In 1975, she joined Stafford County Public Schools as a kindergarten teacher at Falmouth Elementary School in Virginia. Mrs. Lewis later taught third and fifth grades at Falmouth Elementary School over the course of 21 years. She became an early childhood test coordinator for Stafford County in 1996, where she was responsible for kindergarten registration and assisted the division test director with all levels of testing. Continuing her career in education, she became assistant principal in 1997, at Grafton Village Elementary School and held that position for two years. She assumed her current position in 1999. During her tenure at Ferry Farm, she
has been an elementary educational consultant for Tennessee State University and has co-taught a 20 hour Lenses on Learning course to Stafford County administrators. In 2003, Mrs. Lewis was also an adjunct professor at the University of Mary Washington where she taught science and math methods to teachers beginning their careers. She holds a BS degree in elementary education from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and an MEd degree in supervision endorsement from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
