Karen S. Poindexter,
Prince William County Public Schools, is the principal of Marstellar Middle School. Mrs. Poindexter began her career in education in 1969 as a health and physical education teacher at Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, Va., where she remained for eighteen years. From 1987 to 1995, she was assistant principal and later became the principal at Godwin Middle School in Dale City, Va. Mrs. Poindexter assumed her current position in 1995. Mrs. Poindexter is involved in professional organizations such as the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals, the Virginia Middle School Association and the National Middle School Association. In addition, she is a girls gymnastics rules interpreter for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mrs. Poindexter holds a BA degree in English, health and physical education and an MS degree in health, physical education and recreation from Marshall University in Huntington, W. Va.
