Yvonne J. Morse,
District of Columbia Public Schools, is principal of Adelaide Davis Elementary School. Ms. Morse began her career in education in 1969, when she joined the District of Columbia Public School system as an elementary classroom teacher at Randle Highlands Elementary School. In addition to teaching fourth, fifth and sixth grade, she was the elementary building resource teacher and acting principal at Randle from 1976 to 1984. In 1984, Ms. Morse became the assistant principal at the Friendship Educational Center where she remained for six years. From 1990 to 1992, she was assistant principal at Frederick Douglass Junior High School. In 1992, Ms. Morse became principal at James G. Birney Elementary School until she assumed her current position in 2001. She holds a BS degree in elementary education from St. Paul°s College in Lawrenceville, Va., and an MEd degree in elementary education from Virginia State University in Petersburg.
