Former columnist Bill Gold started a long-standing holiday season tradition of raising funds for Children's Hospital through his column. For more than 50 years, since its inception, the campaign has produced an outpouring of money each year from individual readers, organizations and various local groups, raising over $13 million, with more than $9 million of that total being raised in just the past 18 years by former Post columnist Bob Levey. The proceeds go to Children's Hospital to help continue its exceptional work in the community.
